Surgery

Our sweet little Tay is home and doing well. Taylor was diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. On Monday Taylor went into Primary Children's for surgery to remove her adenoids and tonsils. While in surgery the doctors thought they discovered a bigger problem. They thought Taylor had an abnormally wide septum and that she would need some extensive surgery soon. The doctors scheduled Taylor for a CT Scan Tuesday morning to research her further. As you can imagine this is not something a mother wants to hear. I was already over the top imaging what Taylor was going through. I prayed and prayed and prayed for a miracle. The next day the cat scan revealed that Taylor did not have an abnormally wide septum and she will not need surgery for it after all!!!!! That was the answer to our prayers! We believe and are so grateful our heavenly father was watching over our little angel and family. What a wonderful blessing.

Taylor does need to have oxygen for a week only when she sleeps. Then if everything goes well with that, she can sleep on her own, like "a baby." In about 6 weeks she will undergo a sleep study to determine if her sleep apnea is under control.

We want to thank everyone involved for all your love and support. We love you and God Bless.

Jesus won

So I have another cute story about Grady. We were watching TV and the GEICO commercial was on where the cave man is amongst a crowd of people in the stadium and he wins GEICO's greatest customer or other and they show the cave man's face on the jumbo tron as the winning customer. Anyhow, Grady says, "Jesus won mommy". Now that is cute.

Sleepover

Grady always wants to have his cousins sleep over at our home. I have to tell ya, it's only happened once where we had his cousin Karli spend the night. They had a blast and I think this is why he's all about the sleep over thing.

So tonight Grady was asking, "Mom, can Toria (his cousin Victoria) sleep over?" My response was No because it is a school night. Grady didn't give up..."Mom, can Karli (another cousin) sleep over?" No. same reason. "Mom, can Marley (this one is a friend) sleep over?" No...same reason. He was getting upset so I said, "Grady, can I sleep over?" He looks at me and says, "You're our mom remember?" LOL!!!

I LOVE MY SON GRADY!!!!!

Great Grandma's and Grandpa's

Yesterday we, along w/ Jenny and Addie, went to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa Workman. It was SO NICE to see them. Grandpa sure loves little babies. He couldn't get enough of Addie and Taylor. Anyone who knows him, knows he LOVES to kiss the back of babies necks. And he says, "Oh, that sweet, sweet precious little baby!" It is so fun to watch Grandpa Workman love those little ones.

We are so grateful for Great Grandma and Grandpa Workman. We are blessed with their examples. I am thankful Grady and Taylor have had the chance to know them and feel their love. They are wonderful spirits and we love them very much. We hope to learn ALL we can from them.

4 Years Old!

Well yesterday November 12, 2008 Grady turned 4. I can't believe it. He is growing so fast...too fast. :) He is so sweet. He always makes sure he gives me lots of hugs and kisses every day. And whenever we say prayers he never forgets to bless all the grandmas and grandpas.

Another thing about Grady is he is SO independent. He likes to dress himself and put his shoes on (this takes FOREVER) but I have to let him do it because it's good for him, he has to put his own seatbelt on, pour his own milk, zip his jacket (this also takes forever), brush his teeth, and he has to lead the way when we go on walks.

It is so fun watching him grow into a young man. The amount of love I have for my son is more than I can explain. My kids are EVERYTHING to me and I am truly grateful for the examples they are to me in my life. There is no greater blessing.

We are having his birthday party this weekend so I'll post the pictures after that. Thanks for reading. :)

Sacrament Meeting

Well yesterday was the first time in over a year that I took my children and myself to sacrament meeting. Ironically, the talk was on the importance of sacrament meeting and of taking the sacrament. The past week has been more than a struggle for me and I am so grateful for that meeting as it truly brought me peace. Grady and Taylor seemed to enjoy the meeting as well. Who knows...maybe we'll go again.

Flu Season

Why is it that we all had the flu about 2 months ago and now Taylor and Grady have it again? That can't be fair right? :(

Snowman

What is more fun than building a snowman with my son on November 6, 2008? NOTHING! Grady and I built this snowman today while Tay had her nap. Grady insisted on a carrot for the nose. I asked him if we should make eyes and Grady said we didn't need to. He was too excited for the carrot nose I guess. I love this kid. :)

Beautiful Outdoors

I have to say I love the Beautiful Outdoors. Yesterday it snowed and every now and then the snow flurries would turn into BIG snowflakes. It's beautiful to watch if you can find the time. Today the snow is melting exposing the fall leaves that have fallen. It's truly a beautiful site. Grady and I will stay outside until our toes are frozen and our noses are dripping. It is so much fun! The last picture is actually Halloween morning's sunrise. Breathtaking aye?

These are all pictures I took in my front yard.

Let's Hear It For Obama!

"That out of many, we are ONE; that while we breathe, we HOPE." --Obama

I am truly grateful for our new president Barak Obama. God bless America.

VOTE OBAMA!

Well today is Election Day and I will be voting for Obama! I believe he will truly be that "breath of fresh air" our country needs. I believe in Obama's progressive goals: pulling out of Iraq, introducing universal health care, reducing America’s dependence on oil, battling climate change, strengthening national security, ridding Washington of corruption, and improving our schools. VOTE OBAMA!!

Low Rider

First of all "Low Rider" is one of my all time favorite songs. Anyhow, here we have Taylor's favorite thing to do... have Grady take her for a ride.

Old or New

This story might make you cry so beware...

Grady was in my mom's garage and saw a dog kennel that belonged to my dog Chance who passed away a few years ago. Grady asked grandma "who's cave is that?" My mom told him it belonged to their dog Chance who passed away because he was really, really old. She said that he was old like great grandma and that dogs get old just like people. Grady sat and listened and then after a moment asked my mom, "Grandma...are you old or new?" My mother's eyes filled with tears and she said, "I'm medium." Grady, the sweet spirit he is, then said to my mother, "Grandma, I want you to be new."

Wow, my son Grady totally understands what life is all about...love. He is such a great example to me and I am so grateful for him.

Alarm?

Don't you just love when you set your alarm and your child wakes you up 40 minutes before your alarm is set to go off? It's not as if I can just fall back asleep because by the time I do fall back asleep, I'm going to have to get up in 10 minutes. It happened to me this morning and actually it happens to me alot! However, I have to admit that it has been nice to hang out with the little man for a couple of hours this morning just him and I. Good mommy-son bonding. :) Gotta love it baby!

Fall Leaves

I went on a walk last evening and it is GORGEOUS outside! Sugarhouse (where we live) is breathtaking during Fall season. The streets are lined with trees with bright yellow, orange, red, brown, green, and even black leaves. It was about 6:30pm and the sun was beginning to set. I began to feel a sort of calm, serenity. It was beautiful. I am so grateful for the beauty this "place" has to offer. It allows the craziness of life to stop for a moment and bring me to where I like to be..."home". I hope everyone who reads this is enjoying life and what mother nature has to offer. I love you all.

Outside

Here the kids are enjoying mother nature while the weather is still tolerable. We LOVE being outside.

Boo At The Zoo

The first pic is Grady, Tay, and I on the train at the Zoo. The train is always the highlight of the day for Grady. Tay was so tired she passed out.

Next you have my mom, Grady, Tay, and I all at Boo At The Zoo! It was super crowded, but still lots of fun. Here we are dancing to the live band. Grady and Tay really like to groove to the music!

Pepper

Okay so I have to share THE YEAR'S FUNNIEST STORY...at least I thought it was. :) Jason went in the kitchen and noticed there was pepper ALL OVER the place. When we asked Grady what happened he said, "It wasn't me, It was Tay." Jason and I then asked Grady, "How did Tay reach the pepper?" Grady says and I quote, "She jumped up and grabbed the pepper. And then when she landed she did a back flip."

WHAT? IS THIS KID FOR REAL? I laughed so hard I thought my stomach was going to pop!
